Research Interests
· The present-day thermal regime of lithosphere
 

Borehole temperature measurements, determination of thermal properties, territorial heat flow,thermal structure of lithosphere.

Update of heat flow map of the continental area of China, which revealed the thermal regime or heat flow pattern in the continental area is characterized by southwest 'high' with "cold' mantle and `hot' crust, central and northwest 'low' with 'cold' mantle and `cold' crust and east 'high', with 'hot' mantle and `cold' crust in the Southwest;

· Thermal history and hydrocarbon generation in oil-gas basin
 
The major oil-gas basins is typical of episodic heating and multi-period hydrocarbon generation and development of computer program of thermal history reconstruction for sedimentary basin;
The South China Sea is situated at the hottest stage at present and the inner (off-shore) and the outer (infralittoral) belts produce oil and gas respectively.

· The tectonothermal evolution of major geological event
 
Tectonothermal modeling of the sedimentary basin and lithosphere; Numerical modeling of lithosphere-asthenosphere-slab interaction;

· The exploration and eviluation of geothermal resource
 
The distribution of geothermal resources in the continental area is controlled by the lithospheric thermal regime and the barget area located at Southwest and east China;

· Mineral crystallography and crystal chemistry.
