Key Laboratories
Director: Xiao Jule Associate Director: Sun Jimin Using interdisciplinary studies, which combine stratigraphy, chronology, sedimentology, mineralogy, geochemistry, paleoecology, and computer modeling, this laboratory seeks to elucidate the formation and evolution of the Cenozoic environments of regions and dynamic linkages with global change, and explore the impacts of environmental change on human civilization and the impacts of anthropogenic activities on the natural environment. The Laboratory’s major research fields include: (1) formation and evolution of Asian arid regions, (2) tectonic influence on the environment, (3) regional Cenozoic paleoecology, and (4) anthoropocene environment. |
