The 10th Asian Regional Conference of International Association of Engineering Geology (IAEG) hold in Japan The 10th Asian Regional Conference of International Association of Engineering Geology (IAEG) was held from September 26 to 29, 2015, in Kyoto University, Japan. The conference is a large-scale international academic conference, which is held by IAEG every two years. Over 230 delegates from more than 12 countries and regions attended the conference. Eleven engineering geology scholars from the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IGGCAS) attended this conference. The theme of this conference was Geohazards and Engineering Geology, including four topics for and six keynote speeches. Several professors, senior engineers, associate professors, postdocs and students attended the conference and gave presentations. This included an invited oral presentation given by Prof. Faquan Wu. During the conference, the IGGCAS scholars carried out extensive and intensive academic communications with international colleagues and pushed forward China’s contribution to the development of international engineering geology. During the conference lunch on October 27, the IAEG Asian National Group’s Meeting was held. Representatives from China (including Taiwan), Japan, Korea, India, Dubai, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Nepal participated in the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Yogendra Deva, the IAEG vice president for Asia. After the reports from the national groups, the participants discussed the next 11th Asian Regional Conference, member recruitment and international cooperation. Representatives from China (IGG)
