The 3rd Beijing Symposium on Earth and Planetary Interior was held on July 7-10,2013 in Beijing

A broad range of the geomagnetic field datasets have been collected by paleomagnetic studies and modern observations, which have been used to provide crucial constraints on the physics and dynamics of the Earth’s deep interior. It is becoming increasingly recognized that the Earth’s mantle and core-mantle-boundary region play an important role in the spatial and temporal structure of the Earth’s magnetic field. New generation of the geodynamo model is currently being developed on modern massively parallel computers.

Supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China and Chinese Academy of Sciences, the 3rd Beijing International Symposium on Paleomagnetism and Earth and Planetary Deep Interior (chairmen: Professor R. Zhu and Professor K. Zhang) was taken place at Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing. The dates of the symposium were 7-10 July 2013.
