LIU Tungsheng medal of International Union for Quaternary Research awardedThe 18th International Union for Quaternary Research (INQUA) Congress takes place in Bern, the capital of Switzerland during July, 21-27, 2011. Once every four years, Quaternary researchers from all over the world meet at the INQUA Congress to exchange the latest research results and develop agendas for the years to come. On the congress opening, chairman Chivas announced that the first LIU Tungsheng medal is awarded to Stephen Porter, an American scientist. INQUA gives medal named by LIU Dongsheng, which shows that Mr. LIU is honored due to his outstanding contribution for Quaternary research. LIU Tungsheng medal is the lifetime achievement award.
