International Symposium on Eurasia Mesozoic Extensional Mechanism heldInternational Symposium on Eurasia Mesozoic Extensional Mechanism was held at the University of Orleans in France during December 2-3, 2010. The symposium was jointly organized and chaired by the State Key Laboratory of Lithospheric Evolution of IGGCAS, the Department of Earth Sciences, University of Orleans and the International Lithosphere Programme CC-1 / 4 Regional Coordinating Committee. The symposium included several discussion topics, such as tectonics and chronology of the process of continental extensional, the crust and upper mantle structure of thermal-mechanical process during extension of continental lithosphere, deep seismic observations and numerical simulations, the development of mineral and energy resources during the process of continental extensional, and East Asia - Cenozoic palaeogeographic reconstruction. The meeting announced that International Conference on Craton Formation and Destruction will be held at Beijing during April 25-29, 2011.
