Born in December 1964 in Gaocheng County, Shijiazhuang City, Hebei Province.

DI received her B. S. and M. S. degrees at Changchun College of Geology in 1987 and 1990, and her PhD at the Institute of Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) in 1998. She worked as an assistant professor and an associate professor at the Institute of Geophysics (CAS) since July, 1990. She has been professor at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics (CAS) since 2004. As an advanced visiting scholar, she visited the Geophysics School of the University of Alberta, Canada in 2002, and the college of Mines and Earth sciences at the University of Utah, USA in 2007. Her main research interests include geoelectromagnetics, high density resistivity imaging, and GPR. Currently, she hosts the resource probing subsystem research of the Very Low Frequency Electromagnetic Method Project, a major project of the National Development and Reform Commission, and Surface Electromagnetic Probing System project, authorized by the Ministry of Land and Resources of the PRC. She has won the Zhaojiuzhang prize of Outstanding Youth, the honor of Meritorious Heroine Prize of CAS, among other awards. She has published more than 30 papers in SCI journals during the last 5 years.
Serving the institute as an assistant director, she now assists with administrative issues regarding the construction of bases for innovation and business-start up for overseas high-ranking researchers, instrument development, and application demonstrations.
