State Key Laboratory of Lithospheric Evolution
---Tectonics Current topics of the group are Tectonic of Orogenic Belts, Continental Growth, Geodynamics and Metallogeny. The group mainly focuses on the evolution of the Tethys Belt and the Central Asian Orogenic Belt. Primary achievements have been made on the ophiolites and collision timing of the Zagros Orogenic Belts, and the collision processes of the Indo-Burma Orogenic Belts. A multiple accretionary orogenic model has been erected for the Central Asian Orogenic Belt based on systematic studies on the components and deformation of the accretionary complexes. The group has erected good corporations with UK, Australia, USA, Bangladesh, Iran, and Myanmar etc.
