Theories on the hydrogeological processes as well as their application in the exploitation of groundwater and geothermal energy.  

In recent years, research on the groundwater cycle with the background of climate change and human activities and the large scale exploitation of geothermal resources was carried. Meanwhile, the international collaboration including the build-up of Sino-German geothermal research center was promoted.
