This laboratory seeks to design new instruments, develop experimental techniques and create theoretic analyses to further explore the space environments surrounding the near Earth, as well other planets in our Solar System. For the Earth System, the laboratory has particular interests in the coupling processes of the geospace environment. In the Solar System, however, the planets’ unique intrinsic properties lead to distinct activities and variations in their space environments. To compare and better understand these complex and interacting systems is the other primary scientific goal to which the laboratory is dedicated. The laboratory continues to make great efforts toward building a research base of excellent international prestige in the fields of space and planetary physics.
