The team of 'imaging of earthquake source rupture process and its application in earthquake emergency' studies the source parameters on Tangshan 4.8, May28, 2012. The team members include HAO Jinlai, WANG Weimin, ZHEN Wei and YAO Zhenxing.

They solve the source parameters using invert method in wavelet domain, which the seismic data choose from China Seismic Network. The source depth is different from given the depth of 8Km from China Earthquake Administration. The velocity model and other factors will have some impact on source depth in calculating theoretical seismograms. It needs to do further research on source depth.
