The 22nd International Symposium on Geo-disaster Reduction (22nd ISGdR), organized by the International Consortium on Geo-disaster Reduction (ICGdR), was held at the University of Salerno, Italy, from July 22 to 25, 2024. During the symposium, Research Professor Qi Shengwen was elected as the Deputy Director General of ICGdR.

ICGdR is an international academic organization dedicated to the field of geological hazards and disaster reduction. Established in 2013 and headquartered in Japan, ICGdR aims to advance efforts in geological disaster reduction through capacity building, education, and training to benefit both human society and the natural environment. The organization strives to integrate international expertise, coordinate efforts among stakeholders, and establish itself as an effective partner for various projects. It also promotes interdisciplinary activities related to geological disaster reduction at both regional and global levels.
