On April 25th, 2024, the Lab of Lithospheric and Environmental Coevolution invited Professor Pandit M.K. from University of Rajasthan to give one seminar "An overview of Proterozoic sedimentary basins of Peninsular India: special reference to the NW block". Researchers from IGG and other institutes attended the seminars and participated in fruitful discussions.
Prof. Pandit M.K. started his academic career in 1978 and obtained Ph.D. in 1985 from University of Rajasthan on the geochemistry of basalts from the north-western fringe of Deccan Volcanic Province. He diversified into isotope geochemistry, rock magnetism, and paleogeography and has published more than 100 research papers in journals with high impact factors. He has a SCOPUS h-index of 35 and has been rated among the top Indian geoscientists in 2022 by 'Research.com'. He has participated in two Indian expeditions. He has collaborated with academic institutions in the USA, Brazil, Norway, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, Japan, South Africa, etc., and has been associated with the CUG since 2014.
