On July 2nd, L. Decker Dawson Assistant Professor Jingyi Chen from the University of Tulsa was invited by Dr. Xiaobo Tian to give a presentation entitled Numerical Modeling in Computational Geophysics Group at The University of Tulsa.

Dr. Jingyi Chen has a wide range of research interests covering microseismic and rock physics in unconventional resources, numerical simulation of seismic wave propagation, and seismic reverse time migration and inversion. In his presentation, Dr. Jingyi Chen introduced the University of Tulsa and his Computational Geophysics Group. His presentation went on to focus on recent progress in nearly perfectly matched layer (NPML) and seismic wavefield simulations with irregular free surfaces.
