An international joint laboratory on monsoon, ocean and climate, LIA_MONOCL is set up recently by IGGCAS, Tongji University and French National Academy of Sciences.

Ph.D. Catherine Kissel of French National Academy of Sciences is in charge of the laboratory as the French side. Professor LIU Qingsong is the leader of the Chinese side.

The laboratory intends to carry out researches in paleoceanography and paleoclimate, it will determine the mechanisms of climate change on different time scales by numerical simulations and other means. The laboratory is a platform of international exchange to promote the Sino-French earth science.
