Dr. Isabelle Lecomte, invited by Prof. Yanfei Wang and Changchun Yang, visited our institute from May 17 to 23.Dr. Lecomte is the Principal Research Geophysicist, R&D Seismic Modelling, NORSAR, Norway, and also the ICG Theme Coordinator, International Centre for Geohazards (ICG).

    Dr. Lecomte gave two invited talks entitled “Modern applications of ray tracing in seismic O&G exploration.”on May 18 and “International Centre for Geohazards, Oslo: activity overview with focus on geophysics.”on May 19.Very detailed introduction of the development of their seismic exploration research and geohazards are introduced. Dr. Lecomte also communicated with Prof. Yanfei Wang about their software usage.

    The vice director of IGG, Prof. Changchun Yang, communicated with Dr. Lecomte on May 18 afternoon. Both sides are considering possible cooperations between IGG and NORSAR which will be helpful for science and technology.
