Invited by Prof. Pang Zhonghe, Dr. Klaus Froehlich visited our institute and presented an academic lecture in the IGGCAS entitled "Groundwater in the Nubian Sandstone Aquifer in Northern Sahara" on April 8,2009. In this lecture, he discussed isotopic results from an international project co-sponsored by several UN organizations including the IAEA, UNDP and GEF.
Dr. Klaus Froehlich is an environmental physicist, who has extensive research and teaching experience and has made major achievements in the study of natural radioactivity, water resources and related environmental issues. He served as head of the IAEA’s Isotope Hydrology section for many years.
He also paid a visit to our groundwater tracing and stable isotopes laboratories.
