The Geochemical Society (GS) and the European Association of Geochemistry (EAG) recently announced the 2026 Geochemistry Fellows list, honoring 16 scientists worldwide. Academician LI Xianhua from the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was elected in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the field of geochemistry.
Established in 1996, this honor recognizes distinguished scholars who have made sustained and significant contributions to advancing geochemical science. It acknowledges not only transformative scientific discoveries but also long-term achievements in technological innovation, discipline development, and talent cultivation.
Professor LI Xianhua has pioneered technological and analytical innovations in geochemistry, applying them to advance understanding of major geoscientific problems including supercontinent cycles, magmatic processes, and lunar water cycles. His strong support of early-career researchers and extensive international collaborations have widely benefited the global geochemical community.

Professor LI Xianhua
