On November 9th, IGGCAS held the 2023 "11.9 Fire Awareness Month" event. The event included lectures on fire safety knowledge and fire drills. The Party Secretary, Zhang Xiaolei, and the Deputy Party Secretary/Judicial Secretary, Yang Juncheng, delivered speeches to mobilize the participants, with over 100 individuals from various laboratories, management service departments, and safety officers in attendance.
The objective of this event was to enhance employees' fire safety awareness. The lectures focused on promoting fire safety laws and regulations, using significant fire incidents as examples to illustrate the process of fire occurrence, and guiding employees in understanding disaster prevention and evacuation skills. The fire drills utilized a three-dimensional escape tent to simulate realistic fire scenes with darkness, smoke, and high temperatures, providing participants with an immersive experience and allowing them to practice basic evacuation methods and fire refuge techniques in a fire environment. The fire extinguishing exercise provided guidance on the correct usage of firefighting equipment, improving the personnel's organizational and handling capabilities in fire suppression efforts.
In his concluding remarks, Zhang Xiaolei emphasized the importance of both institutions and households placing importance on fire safety. He expressed the hope that all employees would familiarize themselves with fire safety laws and regulations, master evacuation skills, and fulfill their fire safety responsibilities and obligations in accordance with the law.
