The acceptance meeting of undersea seismic observation array was held at Institute of Geology and Geophysics, CAS, on October 9, 2011.

Ocean bottom seismographs (OBS) independently developed by Institute of Geology and Geophysics, CAS, have been applied into several tests and land-sea joint seismic explorations. Observatory array has the capability of simultaneous recording of natural and artificial seismic source signals. The observations show that domestic OBS has achieved the level of similar foreign products, and the cost is significantly lower than similar foreign products.

The establishment and application of seismic array fill the domestic blank of the type of equipment and improve the technical level of China's undersea earthquake observation. The OBS equipment has met the needs of marine survey of resources and deep structures and effectively supported national key research projects and development of international cooperation.
