The annual meeting of the earth science on Tibetan Plateau was held during February 26-27 at the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, CAS.

The meeting was divided into four themes: the lithosphere structure and evolution of the Tibetan Plateau, the growth and environmental effects of the Tibetan Plateau, Cenozoic tectonics and earthquake activity of the Tibetan Plateau. 25 experts made academic reports for the above subjects and carried out discussion with meeting members. Especially, three academicians, XU Zhiqing, TENG Jiwen and MO Xuanxue, lectured special academic reports on hot topics of scientific research on Tibetan Plateau.
