"International Field Excursion and Workshop on Tectonic Evolution and Crustal Structure of the Paleozoic Chinese Tianshan",organized by State Key Laboratory and Lithospheric Evolution and Xinjiang province, was held in Urumqi from 10th to 18th September,2009.Professor Wang Qingchen and Lin Wei from our institute attended the meeting.

In the first part of the meeting 25 attendees from Australia, German, Russia, French, England and China got a field trip to Baiyanggou,hougou,yushugou etc,and during which they made a lively discussion about the timing, the geometry, kinematics and dynamics of the Paleozoic Chinese Tianshan.

In the second part there was a symposium which focused on the latest new research results about Tianshan. 15 representatives gave talks at the meeting to report their latest research results,which covered a wild range of topics about Structural Geology, High-Pressure metamorphism, Chronology, Orogenic belts and ore deposits etc.
