  • Jan.2021-present, Professor, Institute of Geology and Geophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Research Interests:
  • Magnetospheric dynamics. Using the multi-spacecraft data of Cluster mission, TC-1, THEMIS mission etc., to study the dynamics of Earth magnetosphere. Particularly for studying the magnetic field structure of magnetosphere, its evolution in magnetic substorm and geomagnetic storm and the response to the solar wind condition. Trying to exploring the mechanism how the electromagnetic energy from solar wind is coupled to magnetosphere, and how magnetotail energy is tranformed and transferred during the substorm period.
  • Planetary comparative study. Using the data of Venus Express, Mars Express, Mars Global Surveyor etc. to study the planetary space environment in a comparative way. The final goal is to reveal how the electormagnetic energy carried by sloar wind is transformed to power the planetary magnetopsheres
